This is the Malkoff Devices M31W low voltage dropin with solid brass heatsink construction.  This design utilizes a custom orange peel reflector designed by Don McLeish.  The reflector offers a very nice balance between throw and spill.  It is an outstanding room lighter and short to medium spotter. It was designed specifically for use in the Malkoff Valiant VME Head, and SureFire 3P flashlights. It may or may not fit other models.  The warm tint closely resembles the color tint of a high-powered incandescent light, but not as yellow.  It provides excellent outdoor color rendition. 

The input voltage is 0.8 to 3.3 volts. It requires 1.8v for full output. The output is approximately 210 measured out the front lumens at 1.8-3.3v and 150 lumens at 1.2v. The current draw is 1 Amp at 3 volts and 1.4 Amps at 2.4 volts. It is ideal for use with one CR123 primary, two 1.5v AA lithiums, or two rechargeable AA NIMH batteries.  DO NOT USE A SINGLE LITHIUM RECHARGEABLE CELL.  YOU WILL DESTOY IT!!!  It will easily illuminate objects at 350+ feet and will blind opponents within a 100 foot radius. The LED is a Cree XP-G.

An M61 Lens, or suitable equivalent, is required for use in the VME HEAD.  This lens is included with Malkoff Valiant Twisty Flashlights.
